Rachiid Paralyzing
Analha / Memento045
Teaser: https://bit.ly/3gq0U6R

Analha was one of the first approaches I had with the design of analog basses and drums, to understand the way in which we can involve so many sounds and transform them to our own liking, to give it its own narrative, a sense, an identity in which it can be navigated about different styles without problem.

They are two pieces that make up totally different break paths where "Mi ama Dic K no" [A1] is my own exploration and vision of the break beat, three melodies written in F # that count the subtlety, while the bass contrasts in an aggressive idea to the beat of many changing rhythms in the drums, which sorfs between a Mpc, 808, Dsm & V Modular ; Classic trip hop voices samples that guide the way this own idea progresses on the breaks and pads that generate a more complete environment with a very energetic atmosphere that is constantly on the rise in the active and natural development of the track.

Towards the B side "Run mami run" [B1] is composed by a classic intro of acid cut while some seconds of drums interpose which are accompanied by a radio narration of a chase, a return change is present with a vinyl spin between voices from GTA & WU TANG CLAN which make an intro for an infusion of breaks fully aligned to the beginnings of oldskool drum and bass which are accompanied by voices recorded, treated and edited to connect more directly between the spaces interrupted by the glitch acid chords.

Among contrary structures "Analha" contains hidden but marked criticisms, it is a project that comes from 2018 and ended at the beginning of 2019 which made him think about how to involve more than music within his own sound narrative.

The sonorous identity of rachiid today is different, he understands his environment but does not believe in adapting, he tells us that each exploration and discovery during these years have led him to think how this first release was born until now but is not connected at all with what nowadays, describes his sonority today as changeable, essential and highly with IDM, experimental and breaks.

Felix Leifur
In this third chapter of the BROT series, we wrap up the trilogy from the Reykjavík based producer Felix Leifur, who has genuinely showcased his incredible set of production skills throughout the year.

These last five BROT tracks move the sound to another spectrum where Felix plays around with his traditional sound. But this time the tempo is high, and the strong influences from old school breakbeat and jungle shine through. Felix's BROT 03 ties up the first BROT series with flair and this one will surely not be the last one.

Stay tuned for more BROT action in 2020.

Label: Dope Ammo Records
Kat-Nr. dainf008
Artist: Dope Ammo
Titel: Influencer

2018 has been a big year for Dope Ammo so far, what with the smash refix of “Wishin’ On A
Star”, countless collaborations with a whole host of talents artists and fitting in a tour of
Europe. It comes as no surprise that it’s now time to unleash a heavy hitting album in the
form of “Influence”.
This isn’t strictly a drum and bass affair either and with styles perfectly crossing in and out of
each other, it’s a true representation of Dope Ammo’s creative production flair.
“I’m Good” is a prime example of the vibes presented from the album. The arrangement is
super shiny, flowing sunshine from the speaker and firing a sea of smiles in all directions.
Of course you’re going to get a certain amount of dancefloor madness and with the likes of
“How We Get Down” featuring not only Jasmine Knight on vocals but the Run Tingz Cru
thrown in the mix for good measure. This track has a certain amount of commercial
crossover likeability however, retains that original Dope Ammo punch.
“Old Times” is another fine example of retaining ‘scene credibility’ and smashing those
melodic vibes. If you didn’t hear this one at a festival this year, you probably were hanging
around the food trucks too much!
Switching styles completly, both “Risky Business” and “Take It Back” combine early 90’s
vibes, euphoric uprising melodies and good old fashioned hands in the air moments that
really will bring on feelings of peace and love! Shout to MC Fearless.
“Repent” and “Saturday” inject some fresh flavours to your ear, switching the BPM whilst
retaining that feel good vibe which is really represented across the whole of the album.
12 tracks, all with individual personality and character it’s no wonder Dope Ammo really has
locked himself (along with 100’s of guests) in the studio for most of the year. If you’re after a
solid mixture of beats, some to chill to, others to absolutely brock out to - this album is
certainly for you.
Guest appearances (in no particular order) from the likes of Gigante MC, Run Tings Cru, DJ
Panik, Anomy, Yemi Bolatiwa, Jasmine Knight, Aries, Taiwan MC, Broomers, Wyld Child,
Frenic, Rio Hellyer, Martin Carr and Kathy Brown.
Press Release: Jamie S23

Dope Ammo has been a successful producer, remixer and DJ since the early 2000’s having
multiple hits across a broad array of genres. Having worked with the likes of Aphrodite,
Micky Finn, Benny Page, MC Chickaboo, A.M Sniper (from So Solid fame), and Dynamite
MC, not forgetting history in the video game soundtrack industry, Dope Ammo certainly has
a wealth of experience. “Influence” is testament to this and with every track following a
different path and flavour, this really is an album for everybody.

james blake
james blake lp / atlas2lp
The past couple of years have seen creative explosions and new generations coming through in both dance floor electronics and heartfelt, introspective singer-songwriting, but self evidently they’ve remained mutually exclusive genre islands. Until now. With a uniquely emotional electronic production style every bit as deeply personal and impassioned as his voice or song writing, James Blake is sketching out his own place in the musical universe. When a teenage James first visited the pivotal London dubstep night FWD>> in 2007, he’d already been to drum ’n’ bass nights with school friends, but the music and atmosphere there were unlike anything he’d experienced. This was what James had been waiting for – he just hadn’t realised. This midnight epiphany in Plastic People’s Shoreditch cellar led, in a few short years, to the James Blake of 2010, a surefooted 22-year-old composer whose extraordinary tracks are not so much breaking down existing musical barriers as leaping over them and creating an entirely new kind of pop that belies its author’s tender age. Although loosely tethered to the cutting edge of contemporary electronics, James’s songs possess uncommon grace and soulfulness. Whether intended for the FWD>> dance floor or, like new single ‘Limit to Your Love’, destined to melt hearts and prick ears, his music is characterised by a playful and arresting honesty, a human touch that, despite his status as a hugely in demand DJ, naturally aligns him with contemporary artists such as Bon Iver or Laura Marling or the xx. Yet more than this, it is the shock of the new in James’s music that’s causing real commotion: the sounds, that voice, the silence, the rhythm (or lack of it), the waiting, the tension. You have to know the rules in order to break them with such conviction, and by daring to be different, James stands head and shoulders above his peers. No doubt, you’ll remember where you were when you heard tracks like ‘Limit to Your Love’ or ‘I Never Learnt to Share’ for the first time. His self titled debut album, released on February 7th, promises to change the game forever.

SKINT kick off 2011 in style with a massive Dubstep remix EP featuring FATBOY
SLIM’S ‘RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW’ remixed by JFB one time UK DMC champion
and now dubstep producer / remixer.

On the flipside we have Manchester‘s dubstep prodigy JAYOU having collaborated
with Diplo on a remix, as well as having support from the Record Label Mad
Decent. All this from posting his tracks on online forums, as it might be apparent, he’s a somewhat online phenomenon.

The track that started it all for him, that found it’s way from an online blog onto a
Diplo and Switch Essential Mix, is his first release; Crack Hands. The man is set to
be playing at Gatecrasher and Bugged Out, and is resident at Manchester’s Miami
and Subdivision.

George Lenton has been smashing the dubstep blogs with every tune that comes
from his studio so this is one to keep your eye on. With Jack Da Lad adding his
vocal flavour 'Stay Around' is a wicked new take from the dubstep sound that's
currently out there.

when it doubt 2011-01-04 12" 12" Broken - Dubstep
2562 / doubtlp01
2562 aka Dave Huismans – from The Hague/Holland, in Berlin/Germany – has previously released music on Tectonic Recordings as well as 3024 and usually gets classified somewhere in the wasteland between cutting-edge bass music, techno and house. His first two longplayers “Aerial” and “Unbalance” found fans across many different scenes, the latter landing in a.o. RA’s 2009 album top ten. When In Doubt is his new imprint, aiming to release heartfelt music that doesn’t fit in the existing categories. Dave also makes freestyle techno as A Made Up Sound, known for releases on Clone, Delsin, Subsolo, Philpot and its own eponymous label. But that’s another story.

What’s the point of a concept album when no one hears the concept in it? Maybe that it sets a boundary, forcing mr artist to go even deeper into the fewer possibilities left. Creativity by limitation and all that… we’ll spare you further theorizing. ‘Fever’, the third longplayer by dutch low end scientist 2562, then, is his disco album: a thorough reinterpretation of underground disco music from the mid seventies to the early eighties, with his own birthyear 1979 as the gravitational point. All based on one simple rule: every single sound, from the smallest background shiver to the most obese sub bass, originates from a disco record – no additional synthesizers, drumcomputers or other samplesources involved.

Disco-edits, italo homages or filtered loops then? Hardly. This is genuinely new and retro-free music that respectfully flips its sources so hard even the biggest Paradise Garage connaisseurs won’t recognize what just hit them. Or in the words of musical allies Martyn and Pinch, who independently drew the same conclusion: “Sorry, but I don’t hear that whole disco story in there. This simply sounds like you.”

Completely failed as a concept album, then – and all the better for it.

stereo freeze / rs1009
R&S follow the massive singles from Pariah, James Blake, Model 500 and Space Dimension Controller with the debut release on the label by Untold.
Untold is one of the leading lights of the UK dubstep scene, his Hemlock label continues to blur the boundaries between, dubstep, house and techno and also provides a home for likeminded souls James Blake and Ramadanman.
When not running and recording for Hemlock he also records for Hessle and Hotflush, remixes for the likes of Planet Mu and Bpitch, and also has a debut album on the horizon.
His music makes total sense on R&S, taking inspiration from the classic house, techno, jungle and rave that made the label what it is. Put this all together with the finesse and skill of one of the most hyped UK producers around and it's a no brainer that it's another essential slab of wax from the truly back on form label.
Stereo Freeze' is aimed directly at the dancefloor and updates the classic Detroit electro sound for 2010. It's going to unite the old school R&S heads who can file it with their dusty Dopplereffekt and Model 500 vinyl, and the young enthusiasts who have discovered the label through James Blake and Pariah. Play Loud!
Mass Dreams Of The Future' mixes muted rave stabs and more electro basslines over some shuffling future house beats and deft sub bass, and perfectly accompanies the lairier a-side.
With both producer and label having the utmost respect for each other, this was always going to be a release worth waiting for.

klavierwerke ep / rs1007
Three EPs in eight months and they're all brilliant. That's the CV of young James Blake, cut loose from his friends Mount Kimbie and one of the great references of the new post-dubstep scene 'you know, emo-dubstep and all that, or whatever you want to call it. And it's all achieved on his own merits, unafraid to appeal to the most human emotions. In the wake of CMYK (R&S, 2010), the Belgian label has just revealed details of Blake's new EP. On 27th September Klavierwerke will come out, a four-tracker that, judging from its title (Piano Works) could signal a change of direction, with more of a role for the piano and Blake's own voice. With no audio for proof, we leave you with the EPs tracklist.

king cannibal/ scorn
super mantis / combat027
Side A sees globe-trotting beats'n'bass warrior Dylan Richards aka King Cannibal apply his knowledge of precision-cut drumbreaks, fierce rhythms and tortured, filthy bass blasts that were so well displayed on his Ninja Tune album and earlier 12"s on Combat and Rag and Bone. He's taken parts from the powerful original half-step colossus of "Super Mantis" and created a snarling whirlwind of clattering breaks. This remix originally appeared on Mary Anne Hobb's Scorn vs. King Cannibal soundclash on Radio 1, and now sees the light of release. Play this one loud and feel the fury.

Side B sees a totally different approach by Edinburgh's mysterious Wee DJ's. While Cannibal's version slashes you with chunky, razor snares, the Wee DJ's opt to go deep, drawing the listener into a cavernous abyss that's fathoms below, with miles of smothering bass pressure crushing you from above. Sinister, poisonous synth riffs, muted growls, pulsating subs and disturbed, skittering electronic textures permeate the track which cruises like a Kraken in the lightless depts at 134 beats per minute. Adopting a syncopated techno rhythm, this is one for fans of industrial techno exponents like Ancient Methods, Regis, Makaton, Anstam, AQF and Surgeon
