"BlackFilter is the project of Pellegrino Mazzucchi, a percussionist, DJ, and producer residing in Modena, Italy. Pellegrino became passionate about music at an early age, thanks to the influence of his mother, a Fado singer of Indo-Mozambican descent, and his older brother, a DJ of Latin and World music who encouraged him to study Afro-Cuban percussion. Drums, or "Batuki" (as his mother called them when she was getting mad at him for the continuous rhythm that echoed through the house at all hours of the day), served as Pellegrino's first means of expression. He later expanded his sound palette through experimentation with analog synthesizers and drum machines. The fusion of these elements over time gave birth to the distinctive sound of Black Filter and "Batuki": a dialogue between Afro-Caribbean rhythms and futuristic Jazz with hints of electro and disco, offering the listener a sonic and refreshing sound experience."
"Batuki" is out on Ragoo Records.

Founded by Matthias Schildger & Carlo Ietri in 2013, Repeat is finally ready to conquer the world and bring it’s sound to all music lovers out there.
The first imprint of the new label was made by Wigbert // Matt Star & Marvin (incl. Dorian Paic, Dragosh Rmxs) and is called „Play, Stop, Repeat“. It will be out very soon on vinyl and digital.

Boomstraat 1818's newest release 'Durgan's Odyssey' is a warm and melodic Detroit techno ep, inspirited by summer visits to the Cornish coast at Glendurgan.

Kuba Sojka delivers the A1: 'Root Loop', a dj friendly peaktimer, tested on multiple crowds with an ascertained result. We are blessed to release this track on our label.

'Remain' is the A2 of the ep, in The Parallel's typical deep Detroit style: combining warm pads with classic Roland percussion.

Aztronouth is a longtime friend of the label and founder of the legendary Amsterdam based Mechanism parties. He takes care of the A3 with his track 'Tears From Detroit', a clever analog 'one take' electro recording paying his respects to the Motor City.

Acclaimed French techno veteran Taho is on B1. Well known for his classics such as Mutant Fight the Creature and Forest of Wonders. His track 'Dub Jazz' says it all: it sounds like Brendon Moeller and Saint Germain had a love baby.

On the B2 Boomstraat 1818 label owner Stroef combines his analog 808 drums with strings and pads to deliver a warm and captivating melodic Detroit track called 'Main Gate'.

Stefan Vincent is set to release his first solo EP on newly founded Boomstraat 1818. Following his contribution on the label's previous release, the Dutch producer has crafted four tracks in his signature style. The A-side provides two club-ready tracks, leaving the B-side to take on a more restrained approach, offering two deeper cuts. ‘Yearning Echoes’ is a high-energy track with filtered stabs and aggressive hihats, clocking in at 138 bpm. In contrast, ‘Merest Hint Of A Pulse’ takes the tempo down a notch and offers a multi-layered percussion-based tool. On the B-side, 'Silent Observer' takes a deeper and introspective route with its hypnotic rhythms and subtle melodies, while 'Fetishizing Oblivion' offers a colorful electro track guided by a prominent bassline and elegant pads.

RAWAX welcomes Alex Israel to the Family! Alex' great releases on Crème Organization convinced us to request a demo.


Alex took his first musical steps by studying piano and guitar at the young age of 6. His fascination for the more outlandish, experimental side of each instrument corrupted his lessons and sent him down a modular synths and tape loop composition wormhole. Years later Alex resurfaced, got himself clean and, through connections made while spending time as a vocal audience member (and sometimes uninvited participant) at Lyman Woodard, Phil Ranelin, and other Tribe- and Motown-linked gigs in Cass Corridor during the mid-1970s, spent time as a session musician for Earth Wind and Fire, Chic, and Prince. It was only toward the mid-90s he found himself enthralled by the techno and house sounds of Detroit and Chicago so he went into the woodshed and came out firing electronic salvos.

The label had 30 vinyl releases over thirteen years and tracks were licensed by Derrick May, Terry Francis, Pete Tong, Adam X, and Carl Cox.As well as this he ran another four other label's, Textures, Dark, DOT, and Cheap Knob Gags.

Atom™ (also known as Atom Heart and often confused with Señor Coconut, real name Uwe Schmidt) is a German composer, musician and record producer of electronic music. He is often regarded as the father of electrolatino, electrogospel and aciton (acid-reggaeton) music.

1983-1990

Atom™ began making music in the early 1980's, first playing drums, then switching to programming a drum computer after he had heard a Linn Drum on the radio. In 1986 he co-founded the cassette label "N.G. Medien", on which various tapes of international artists, including the Canadian Electronic Body Music act "Frontline Assembly" and his first musical work under the name "Lassigue Bendthaus", entitled "The Engineer's Love", were released. Soon after, he started to work on what would become his first official Lassigue Bendthaus record release, the album "Matter". The recordings and production for "Matter" began in 1986 and took almost 4 years, until the album finally came out in 1991 on the German "Parade Amoureuse" label. "Matter" as well as it's related singles and maxi-singles were recorded and mixed by Tobias Freund (Pink Elln). "Lassigue Bendthaus" until that point, was musically categorized as "Electronic Body Music" (EBM), even though part of the success of "Matter" may have been the fact that it didn't quite fit the category and already incorporated musical elements of the 1990's. Uwe Schmidt played his first live show as "Lassigue Bendthaus" as the opening act for the british group "Meat Beat Manifesto" at the Frankfurt "Batschkapp" in 1989.

1991-1994

Still living in Frankfurt, Uwe Schmidt was directly influenced by the emerging "pre-techno" movement of the late 1980's known as house and acid house. A sub-label of "Parade Amoureuse" released some of Schmidt's dance floor oriented productions under the alias "Atom Heart" which he adopted as his main artist name from then on. The early 1990's saw a series of 12-inch vinyl productions, mainly aimed at the dance floor, which were released under a variety of different project titles such as Atom Heart, Slot, etc.

In 1992 he was in charge of producing a series of tracks for the yet to be widely known DJs Pascal F.E.O.S. (Resistance D), Ata and Heiko M/S/O (Ongaku). Uwe Schmidt produced and co-wrote titles such as "Ongaku" and "Cosmic Love", which became successful prototypes for the appearing "Trance" movement. His activities as a music producer continued with the Austrian multimedia artists "Station Rose" whom had just moved from Vienna to Frankfurt in 1992. The 12-inch "Digit Eyes" was produced by Schmidt and Station Rose the same year. During the production of "Digit Eyes" he was introduced to Tetsu Inoue, a New York based japanese electronic music producer, with whom he founded the "Datacide" project in 1993.

Out of the "N.G. Medien" nucleus the record label "POD Communication" was founded in 1992. After the bankruptcy of "Parade Amoureuse" and its sub-labels in 1992, Schmidt moved his activities to the "POD Communication" label on which he released a series of 12-inches and albums under the guises of Atom Heart, Lisa Carbon and Atomu Shinzo. Also releasing on "POD Communication" was the German artist Pete Namlook whom Uwe Schmidt first met at the "POD" office in Frankfurt. Due to his releases on "Parade Amoureuse" and "POD Communication" and his successful production works, Schmidt had quickly obtained a reputation that let him play live concerts all around the world. Together with Tobias Freund, who by then still used the "Pink Elln" pseudonym, Schmidt played a live show at one of the first "rave" parties ever in Finland in 1992. The live concert was recorded and released on "Ongaku Music" in 1992 known as "Elektronikkaa - Atom Heart & Pink Elln live in Montreux and Helsinki" and became one of the first released live Techno live recordings.

A vast amount of productions were released worldwide due to the licensing activities of "POD Communication", "Ongaku Music" and a variety of other Frankfurt based record companies. After "Parade Amoureuse" closed down in 1992, his first album "Matter" was re-released by the Italian record label "Contempo Records" from Florence.

By 1993 Schmidt released the follow up album to "Matter" : Lassigue Bendthaus - "Cloned". "Cloned" was produced and licensed to "Contempo Records" together with a sample CD titled "Cloned:Binary" which contained the sounds used on the original "Cloned" release. "Contempo Records" went bankrupt in 1993.

Due to open payments by those labels, lack of a recording studio and unresolved recording contracts, Schmidt decided to take some months off and lived for half a year in Costa Rica (end of 1992 until early 1993). On the way back from Costa Rica, he stopped over in New York City, where he visited Tetsu Inoue to record the first "Datacide" album. Back home in Frankfurt, his interest in Latin Music started to grow and in fact the birth of the "Señor Coconut" moniker can be allocated somewhere around that time. Even though "Lassigue Bendthaus" had not brought him much luck until then, he decided to start recording his third album during 1993 entitled "Render". Because of the stagnation and inherent ignorance of the "Techno" movement that surrounded Schmidt's work, he soon began to distance from this musical format and scene. He also felt that the DJ and the dance floor where very limiting targets for his musical output and that many of his musical ideas would not be compatible with it. As a consequence he founded his own record label "Rather Interesting" in 1994.

Bt this time, Pete Namlook had founded his "FAX Records" label and a new scene of musical styles appeared, such as "Ambient", "Jungle", "IDM" and others. Uwe Schmidt, apart from his monthly release on "Rather Interesting", continued recording with Tetsu Inoue ("Datacide"), Pete Namlook ("Jet Chamber") and Victor Sol ("+N") during 1994. That same year, the "Lassigue Bendthaus" albums "Render", "Render - U.S. Remixes", "Matter (second re-release)", "Cloned" (first re-release) and the 12-inch "Overflow" were released by the Belgian "KK Records", a label that would officially declare bankruptcy in 2000. Right after the release and re-release of the "Lassigue Bendthaus" albums, Schmidt began to work on the last album to be released under that project name called "Pop Artificielle".

1995-1998

In 1995, Uwe Schmidt collaborated with Bill Laswell and Tetsu Inoue on the FAX release "Second Nature" which was recorded at Laswell's studio in Brooklyn. Towards the end of 1995 another collaboration was concretized in Tokyo where Schmidt, Inoue and "Yellow Magic Orchestra" founder Haruomi Hosono recorded the first "HAT" album. "HAT" was released on Schmidt's "Rather Interesting" label and Haruomi Hosono's "Daisy World Discs". In an effort to escape the German winter, Schmidt spent the ends of 1994 and 1995 in Australia. A man with the same idea was the German music producer Bernd Friedmann whom he met in Melbourne in 1995.

Two more "+N" and "Datacide" albums were produced between 1993 and 1996 as well a one album each month on "Rather Interesting", all of them under different names which Schmidt later refers to as "working titles", "headlines" or simply "words that label a musical idea" rather than being "aliases" or "projects" in the traditional sense. Logically all works of Uwe Schmidt would later be summarized under just one name: "Atom™". With a lot of traveling, playing live shows world wide such as Love Parade in 1994 and Sonar Barcelona in 1994, as well as the stagnation to be felt in his european surroundings, Schmidt prepared for his departure from the old continent. Together with Dandy Jack, with whom he formed the project "Gon", two live shows were played in Santiago de Chile in March and October of 1996. Schmidt and the Chilean Dandy Jack, whom lived all his life in Germany and Spain, on their way back from Chile, decided to "try to relocate" to Santiago in 1997.

1996 finally sees Uwe Schmidt's "Señor Coconut" idea come to realization. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts during 1993-1995, still living in Frankfurt, he recorded 8 tracks in the later declared "Electrolatino" style. In a fever vision the name "Señor Coconut", placed on top of a coconut texture, a design that would become the artwork of the first "Señor Coconut" album appeared to him. Even though Schmidt tried to complete the album in Frankfurt, the preparations for his move to Chile prevent this plan. In March 1997, Schmidt together with his colleague Dandy Jack, moved to Santiago de Chile where they shared a rented house and installed their studios. During March and April he finished the "El Gran Baile" album, which would be the first work bearing the name of "Señor Coconut".

Uwe Schmidt continued releasing one album per month on his Rather Interesting label, though due to the difficulties of adaptation in Chile, decided to reduce his output. "Akashic Records", a Tokyo based label owned by Towa Tei, licensed "El Gran Baile" for the territory of Japan. Towa Tei further requested a remix by Uwe Schmidt. By the end of 1997 Uwe Schmidt and Dandy Jack's ways split and Uwe moved out of the shared house (while Dandy Jack moved back to Germany one year later).

During 1998, Tetsu Inoue and Haruomi Hosono visited Uwe in Santiago. The second "HAT" album was recorded. Towards the end of 1998, on his way back from Australia to Germany, Bernd Friedmann stopped over in Santiago and together with Uwe Schmidt they recorded their first "Flanger" album called "Templates". "Templates" was recorded in a programming "tour de force" of one week at Uwe's "Mira, Musica!" studio and released in 1999 on the british "Ninja Tunes" label.

1999-2003

"Lassigue Bendthaus'" last album, "Pop Artificielle" was finally finished and released in 1999. Due to a record company decision the album was released under the name of "LB", an abbreviation that stands for "Lassigue Bendthaus". "Pop Artificielle" caused quite a media reaction worldwide, due to the fact that the album contained electronic cover versions of famous Pop and Rock songs. "Pop Artificielle" stylistically may be considered as being one of the first productions that merged "Song" structures with sounds coming from a 90's techno background. Many refer to it as an initial point for the development of the "glitch" genre.

During the production process of "Pop Artificielle", the idea was born to cover the German electronic pioneers "Kraftwerk" in a yet to be defined style and as a different production. Meant to be rough sketches, Uwe Schmidt started to program a couple of Kraftwerk cover versions in traditional "cha cha cha" arrangement and decided to make this the second "Señor Coconut" album. Entertained by the result of the first programmings, he produced a total of 4 songs which he sent to some record companies. One of those companies, Towa Tei's "Akashic Records", immediately licensed the album, entitled "El Baile Alemán", releasing it upon completion of the production in 2000. European and North American record companies remained uninterested until triggered by the hype "El Baile Alemán" had caused in Japan. Soon a European, North American, Mexican, Hong Kong and a Russian release followed and the title "Showroom Dummies" was featured in the Mexican movie "Y tu Mamá también". Uwe Schmidt obtained official permission by Kraftwerk themselves to release "El Baile Alemán", though had to remove his version of "Radioactivity".

"Señor Coconut"s first european tour started the 19th of August 2000 in Germany. A U.S. headlining tour was scheduled, but had to be canceled because of visa problems of one of the 7 chilean musicians that accompanied Schmidt. In parallel to "Señor Coconut" project, Schmidt continued working on rather obscure ideas, some for Rather Interesting, some that were released on other labels, such as the "Geeez 'n Gosh" (2000 and 2002) albums which musically merge abstract electronic programmings and gospel vocals. "Geeez 'n' Gosh was released on the german "Mille Plateaux" label, which went bankrupt in 2004, leaving Schmidt as well as many fellow musicians, unpaid. The "Flanger" project was also continued, Friedman and Schmidt recording the "Inner Space/Outer Space" album in Santiago de Chile, which was then released in 2001.

2004-2008

Apart from his own productions and various collaborations he was solicited to remix artists such as Depeche Mode, Martin L. Gore, Air, Cesaria Evora, Juan Garcia Esquivel, Sktech Show, Towa Tei, Moreno Veloso, Merzbow and many others. An exclusive track entitled "White Car" was produced for and released on the Japanese anime movie, "Appleseed". Still, Uwe Schmidt spent most of the time touring with his "Señor Coconut" moniker, which had grown to a full 9-man orchestra. The "Señor Coconut" album "Yellow Fever" was released in 2006. The album contained cover versions of "Yellow Magic Orchestra" songs and became a very successful release in Japan. Amongst the "YMO" members themselves (Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi) a vast amount of guest musicians appeared on this album such as "Mouse on Mars", "Akufen", Jorge Gonzalez and others. "Yellow Fever!" was performed live at "Sonar Sound Tokyo" the same year, with both Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi performing each one song with the full orchestra on stage. The Señor Coconut album "Around the World" was released. It contains guest participations of Stephan Remmler ("Trio: DaDaDa") and the austrian crooner Louie Austen.

2009-Today

Uwe Schmidt's "Rather Interesting" label remains his largest unified body of work. To date, R.I. alone has over 46 full-length releases under numerous aliases and styles, of which most of them are written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Schmidt himself. Additionally, Schmidt handles all the label management and most all of the album artwork and design.
Remixes for Les Baxter, Perez Prado, Jamie Lidell, Plaid and Japanese superstar Kumi Koda have been continuing to garner attention for Uwe Schmidt. The collaboration "Surtek Collective" with Vicente Sanfuentes, invented yet another musical style called "aciton", a blend of "acid" and "reggaeton". "Surtek Collective" mainly tours Latin America, playing shows in Mexico, Venezuela, Brasil, Argentina and Chile.
The "Flanger" album "Sprituals" was released in 2005 on Bernd Friedmann's label "Nonplace" and the "HEADZ" label for the Japanese territory. A couple of years later songs from "Spirituals" got licensed for the Hungarian movie "Bibliotheque Pascal".
From 2007 until 2010, collaborating with Japanese composer Masaki Sakamoto, he produces the album "Alien Symphony" and the modified (online) version of it, called "Meteor Shower" which was released in 2010. The same year sees Atom™ acting a mini-role in the Mexican movie "Orol". By the end of 2010 a short South American tour is played with the "Sr. Coconut" project.
Atom™, in collaboration with Japanese musician Toshiyuki Yasuda produces a cover version of the brazilian Bossa Nova classic "Aguas de Março", pre-released on the compilation "Red Hot 2" in June 2011. The vocals on this song are performed by Fernanda Takai and Moreno Veloso.
A photo exhibition called "Winterreise" was unveiled in Tokyo in May 2011, accompanied by a"Playbutton" release. "Atom™" performances at the Lincoln Center in New York City, "Communikey Festival" in Boulder, the "Raster-Noton"/"Mute" festival at the Roundhouse in London, Labyrinth Festival in Japan plus many others.

A second "Winterreise" exhibition was held in Frankfurt (Germany) in October 2011 as well as the "Winterreise" soundtrack was released in May 2012 through "Raster-Noton". "atom-tm.com" was launched in July 2012 and serves as Atom™'s official news platform and archive. As a result of the "Winterreise" release, Atom™ received an invitation from Richie Hawtin, to play an ambient set at his club in Ibiza. The invitation was accepted and the then entitled "Alpha txt" ambient set created, which was then again performed, opening the "labyrinth" festival in September the same year. An initially abandoned album, which in 2005 carried the working title "Hard Disc Rock" (as a self-reference to the 1997 Atom™ title with the same name), re-surfaced as "HD", after some of the unfinished tracks raise interest at the Raster-Noton label. The album was finished during the second half of 2012, and mixed down during January 2013. The release of "HD" was then scheduled for March 2013. In the middle of the "HD" production, the terrible news of Pete Namlook's sudden death reach Atom. Months later, as a practical consequence of Namlook's passing away, the "Rather Interesting" label, which both Pete and Atom ran together since 1994, was shut down forever. Early 2013 see Atom™ playing various live shows, such as the double opening feature at Berlin's "CTM.13", where he first performs "Bauteile" with colleague Marc Behrens, and later on, together with "Material + Object", plays a 3 hour "Alpha txt" set. Extensive promotional activities for "HD", which, amongst other results, bring Atom™ on the front page of Germany's "De:bug" magazine and the preparation for the "HD" and "Ground Loop" live sets keep Atom™ busy during the first couple of months of 2013.

Born in the distinctively Puerto Rican neighborhood of Lincoln Park Chicago, Ricardo was named after legendary Salsa singer Ricardo Ray. After major Puerto Rican displacement (urban renewal) Ricardo’s parents settled in the Noble Square section of West Town for many years.

His music reflects a traditional House culture that goes beyond just sound or legendary stories. While his industry peers recite fond memories of The Music Box, The Bismark and other musical institutions – Ricardo sat in front of a big Pioneer Radio listening & recording mixes from Chicago radio stations WRRG, WBMX AM/FM & WGCI which included a hefty dose of early House Music, Italian Imports and Electro. But, it was the new sound of Chicago House that made a profound impact on his soul.

As a thirteen year old, when not infuriating teachers by pounding House beats on his desk, he was creating crude pause cassette tapes to a wood panel tape deck. Then in 1986 Ricardo got a taste of producing when his older brother brought home a newly introduced Casio RZ-1 & Casio CZ1000. Even though he was forbidden to touch the equipment it was the main thing he looked forward to whenever his brother was away. Later that year he was passed down some rough dj equipment from a dj friend which gave Ricardo the opportunity to play all the records in the household.

When the time came to pursue his artistic passion professionally, Ricardo created hundreds of rough tracks to ready himself. A chance meeting with musical genius Glenn Underground led to his assistance on Ricardo's first single "Termino Mi Amor" which Louie Vega signed almost immediately. As his knowledge and experience continued to grow, Ricardo began to create many memorable compositions on various labels even as the industry was undergoing major changes.

Currently, Ricardo is charted on endless playlist under his many guises: the Latin Soul Brothas, Yonurican, Defend:R, ******************* and of course Ricardo Miranda.

Under Yonurican, Ricardo was responsible for the UK Funky anthem "Boriken Soul" which was distributed by Jellybean Benitez. Ricardo launched his label Noble Square Recordings as the main member of The Latin Soul Brothas with the track "Afroricaness". He was also responsible for the standout classic "Urbanism" which was featured on Rick Wilhite's Vibes Compilation released on Rush Hour Records

There is no question that Ricardo Miranda is one of the leading figures in the House Music scene.

Title-cut ‘Lose My Mind’ leads, laying down crisp saturated drums, crunchy stab
sequences, choppy vocal hooks and bright strings all dynamically evolving throughout for
ultimate dance floor impact. ‘Sunday Remedy’ follows with bumpy breaks, a weighty kick
and amalgamation of vocal samples in combination with gritty bass stabs and classic
piano chords to perfectly encapsulate the essence of house.
Opening the flip-side is ‘Down The Street’, diving deeper with airy chords, breathy vocal
chants and bouncy bass stabs intertwined with a more raw, reduced rhythm section. The
aptly titled ‘Smooth As Butter’ then rounds out the release with a nod to the Detroit House
sound, fusing shimmering keys with jazzy drums, twinkling chime melodies and lowpitched
vocals across its near five minute duration.

Marvin Dash – Germany's best kept House Music secret. Real House Music headz have

middle of Germany – Thuringia.
About 30 years ago Ronald and his buddy Jens Kuhn aka Lowtec teamed up for music
production on their own terms in the vibrant House & Techno scene of East Germany. This
scene was pure DIY: Parties somewhere out in the country, heartfelt, down-to-earth
people and raw underground tunes from analogue machines. Their productions were way
ahead of their times, but found a cult following by and by...

Andrew Azara makes a welcome return to Cécille with his ‘Cosmic Girl’ EP,comprising five originals from
the Dublin via Barcelona artist.
Born in Ireland and now based in the Spanish hotspot, Barcelona, Andrew Azara has been making his mark since
2019 with regular appearances behind the booth across Europe and South America and a string of releases for
the likes of DJEBALI and of course Cécille where he returns here following 2024’s ‘Right On Time’ EP.
Title-track ‘Cosmic Girl’ leads with robust drums, dubby stab sequences and tension building resonant flutters at
its core before ‘Mattika’ lays down organic percussion, bouncy sub bass tones, an amalgamation of vocal chants
and fluttering synth loops.
‘The Jam’ follows on the flip-side, stripping things back to a raw, reduced rhythm section, plucked synth notes and
dynamic effects throughout. Obsession then concludes the vinyl release with a groovy bass line, choppy samples
and heavily swung drums before the digital bonus cut ‘Doing It’ completes the package, laying down airy strings,
bright chord sequences and jazzy bass tones atop a minimalistic
drum groove.

Cinthie returns to her 803 Crystal Grooves label with You Know How EP
German mainstay offers up three varied and vital house weapons to relaunch her label after 2.5
year hiatus
Cinthie is one the most revered voices in underground house music and has been for more than
a decade. Her take on the genre always puts the groove first. It is informed by the classics but
with a contemporary edge and comes on 803 Crystal Grooves as well as cultured outlets like
Aus Music and Heist. As a DJ she mixes up records from her vast collection with equal style and
skill, and is also now live artist who serves up impromptu jams on her collection of hardware.

In 1994 the Vienna-based project iO from Patrick Pulsinger, Erdem
Tunakan, Umberto Gollini and Gerhard Potuznik released a series of
12 inches called Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release on their
legendary Cheap Records imprint.
While most of the tracks where minimalistic Detroit-influenced
Techno, one particular piece stuck out. Claire!
Not only for its mid tempo around 110 bpm, but mostly for the mix of
jazz chords, a funky sample-based groove and a bone dry 909.
Here was a tune bridging the gaps between Techno, Trip Hop and House Music.
Shortly after the release of the full album containing all previous 12 inches,
Claire was licensed to Mo’Wax Records in London.
With an even broader audience it was received in a whole different
context and became an instant favorite amongst DJs from different
genres around the globe and a stone cold classic which is still loved
today. The re-release not only contains the tastefully remastered original
version, but also three remixes by the original crew of Pulsinger and
Tunakan together with the dub expert Sam Irl.

Next up on Greek label Lower Parts is a fierce EP from the one and only DJ Stingray, who serves up one of his strongest releases in a while and, at the same time, marks his comeback with a bang. Featuring a remix by Athens talent Kon001, who Stingray has been meaning to release for years and who got personally handpicked by him for this assignment, the EP’s titles tell us of the Detroit man’s interest in science, biology and evolution and covers plenty of musical styles.
Stingray has won plenty of acclaim with serious releases on labels like Naked Lunch, Bleep and Itinerant Dub. He wastes no time here in nailing down a nervy techno groove on ‘Acetylcholine’, with its hurried kicks, electro synths and slithering bass lines all racing along as you do the same. Dendrite is then a half time, lurching number with serious dub weight and serene synths that manages to be beautiful and brutal at the same time.
On the flip, ‘eRbB4’ is a slick, journeying bit of electro-techno with real soul and emotion in its bones, before kon001 does Stingray proud with a dynamic, spangled remix that is metallic and reflective, groovy and evocative. This is a killer release from Stingray and is yet another fine offering from Lower Parts.

MMOTTORR is a new collaborative project between Tr One and New Jackson and the 1st EP marks an exciting fusion of both artists' sounds combined with a fresh take on machine music, blending influences from Chicago and ghetto house, deeper acid textures, techno and use of classic samplers and voice modulation to create 4 dancefloor orientated tracks.

EP 1 features four tracks from the Irish artists that push the boundaries of hardware based production, offering a captivating exploration of sound and influences from both artists.

The lead track U LIKE IT RAW (RED HOT) offers a ghetto house influenced track with a booming low end and persistent bassline containing a dual pitched vocal to devastate dancefloors.

The story begins with the beggar Shi Po Tian, aka the Bastard, stealing a bun which contains the Black Iron Token, created by skilled pugilist Xie Yanke, which grants the holder one wish. ãC20/25Ò and its pounding and pacy rhythmics, carrying pads and heavy hitting vibe, perfectly set the journeyÕs energetic and warm tone.
Xie appears yearly, demanding that the clans repay in blood for any heinous act they committed throughout the year. The only way that a rude clan can avoid the cull is for the clan's leader to sacrifice himself for them. With ãSKS (101)Ò and its soothing and floating pads carrying the gentle lo-fi drums, the story heats up and evolves to a deeper intricacy.
Fearing that Bastard might make him promise to stop his annual harvest of death, Xie spirits him away and trains him in martial arts so powerful that he is certain it will kill him, but instead, it makes him strong and resilient. The uplifting pads in ãGateÒ, supported by a reckless broken beat and pinging vocals, create a celestial vibe that pushes Bastard to his limits.
He is rescued by the Chang Lo Clan that mistakes him for their villainous leader Shi Zhongyu and then treats him as their boss. With each case of mistaken identity, he becomes drawn into a number of heated conflicts between several rival schools and gangs - a dilemma that he just isn't prepared to deal with. The dreamy ambiance of ãKinda WeakÒ and its well-wrought drum pattern slowly shroud the memories of his old life.
The final point is set with ãPol-1 (For Stefan)" - an emotive and profound ambient piece to close the story. He's sure to learn some valuable lessons about brotherhood and honor, but at what price?

Following the fall of the Sung Dynasty, minister Wen, who pens a patriotic song to inspire the nation, is imprisoned by the conquering Mongols. Sung patriots plot to free the lord from the Celestial Prison by having themselves arrested and a spy release them once inside. But the prison general sets a deadly trap. ãHarbingerÒ, its heavy drums, mystic pads and untamed spirit perfectly describes the menacing scene inside the prison.
With the help of free-spirited hero Le Heru, patriot Bai Yaerh escapes the carnage. With more fighters in tow, he returns to the prison with a new plan to tunnel underground. The shifting drums and emotional synths of ãSinus NodeÒ sets the serene tone needed to compensate for the loss, signaling a promising new dawn.
The legion finds hope while battling out of the prison to preserve the moving song the minister composed before his demise. ãCytoÒ and its melancholic mood filled with revolving breaks, powerful arpeggios and shimmering drums, leads to a shocking and disturbing end that is hard to handleÉ

The story begins with an arranged marriage between Chinese Kung Fu student Ho Tao and Japanese Yumiko Koda who is highly-trained in Karate. They live together happily until one day, they decide to practice together. ãMorseÒ, its blazing pads, energetic percussion and powerful rhythm weaves and chimes in sync with their intense and raw training duel.
Relentless arguing about which martial style and philosophy is better leads Koda to become offended, so she returns to Japan. ÒFoothillsÒ is a bright, sonic forcefield and its pulsating drums set the tone for a voyage of mixed emotions and self-doubt.
Marital and cultural misunderstandings lead KodaÕs former school in Japan to send seven of their strongest students to fight Ho Tao and prove which country has superior fighting styles. For the 10th Shaw Cuts release, Lazarus and Farron join forces on their new collaboration project Pollaar, defying Pai Mei and his alliance with the ruling Manchurian Court who aim to quash the revolutionary rebels. Crane and tiger techniques vs. the seemingly invincible versatile villain and his squad.
The story begins when Pai Mei and his entourage raid the shaolin temple where the rebels have found refuge. Only a few rebels and students escape the attack, among them, Hung Hsi-Kuan. ãHaslamÒ and its blasting drum patterns paired with bright sounding synth fragments help Hung Hsi-Kuan and his copartners to safety.
They finally find a safe haven with a traveling opera group. Along the way, Hung encounters the fair Ying Chun, herself a master of the crane technique. They fall in love and have a son, Wen-Ting. Hung could not forget though, and dedicates himself to mastering the art of the tiger style for the next ten years, to finally compete against Pai Mei. The guard Ma Teng flees when he witnesses the brutality unleashed by the men and the lethal weapon.
