Streaming Amsterdam’s D Stone and Milion join forces this May for the sixth release on Cinthie’s 803 Crystal Grooves Collective Cuts imprint. Since the inception of the 803 Crystal Grooves imprint in 2018, Cinthie has been steadily unveiling her own material on the main label, while the sub-label Collective Cuts was inaugurated in 2019 as a platform for friends, associates and beloved producers in her circle. The past five releases on the platform have welcomed material from the likes of UC Beatz, Azuni aka Washerman, Anaxander, S3A (Sampling As An Art) and KETTAMA among others, while here the label welcomes some fresh talent from the Dutch capital, namely D Stone and Milion,who’ve been releasing their raw house sound on the likes ofHardlineMoscow Recordsand Cécillerespectivelyin recent years. ‘The Next Morning’ leads the EP, employing classic house tropes with smooth string melodies, twinkling synth chimes and choppy stab sequences, underpinned by a swinging drum groove, bumpy bass line and hooky vocal lines. ‘The Night Before’ follows and retains a similarly classic house aesthetic courtesy of a snaking bass melody, hypnotic spoken word vocals, crunchy saturated percussion and an amalgamation of organ melodies. ‘Floor Call’ then rounds out the release on a darker tip, flipping focus to murky bass swells, and skippy drums, intertwined with gritty stab sequences, Hammond organ tones and a loopy vocal chant.

"BlackFilter is the project of Pellegrino Mazzucchi, a percussionist, DJ, and producer residing in Modena, Italy. Pellegrino became passionate about music at an early age, thanks to the influence of his mother, a Fado singer of Indo-Mozambican descent, and his older brother, a DJ of Latin and World music who encouraged him to study Afro-Cuban percussion. Drums, or "Batuki" (as his mother called them when she was getting mad at him for the continuous rhythm that echoed through the house at all hours of the day), served as Pellegrino's first means of expression. He later expanded his sound palette through experimentation with analog synthesizers and drum machines. The fusion of these elements over time gave birth to the distinctive sound of Black Filter and "Batuki": a dialogue between Afro-Caribbean rhythms and futuristic Jazz with hints of electro and disco, offering the listener a sonic and refreshing sound experience."

Elements Electric is a brand new label out of Dublin, Ireland being brought to life with the latest release from acclaimed local producer Peter Sweeney aka Rustal (393 Records, Diffuse Reality). Heart Drives The Machine is the name of this aptly titled 4-tracker. This is an expansive techno record that touches on acid, electro, house and the aforementioned techno, all of it heavily imbued with influences from the American midwest, most notably Detroit - maintaining the long running connection between the Irish capital and the home of techno.

On opener Celestial Flame, Sweeney pitch-bends the acid as hard-hitting syncopated drums bring things back to earth with a gritty thump. Love Not Lost takes a more direct approach to 303-infused deep techno as soaring keys in the background make sure the soul of the machines is never far away as the song continues to ascend.
Motor City Man is a fitting title for a song that mainlines a classic 90s Detroit house organ riff over propulsive drums; reminiscent of D1 Recordings at its peak, it's a ready-to-build floor filler if ever there was one. The EP closes on a reflective note with Aurora Lake, as a teasing acid line subtly sits over nostalgic synths, gently pirouetting together into the ether…

Conceived over seven years in Berlin and Mexico City, "The Future Is Among Us" is a sonic tapestry
woven from diverse influences. Each track, produced in a different era, retains its unique character

Upon the return from the dark and dreamy regions of his previous EP ‘Euphoria’, Milanese hard techno DJ-producer MAIKE DEPAS (Michelangelo De Pasquale) announces new EP ‘Rave the Planet’, out 29 February via The Innovation Studio, ahead of MAIKE DEPAS 2.0 audio-visual makeover. Sending tremors through the electronic underground scene, Depas joins Kobosil and In Verruf in carrying the torch of uncompromising Berlin techno while keeping his feet firmly planted in the melodic 1990s trance of Push, Jam & Spoon, and Cygnus X.

Introducing his new heavy-duty fusion of face-melting techno and trance carrying ‘Go Hard or Go Home’ warning sign, Depas makes the crowd grind their teeth with a behemoth of an opener ‘Heartbreaker’ only to fill the dancefloor with dread on the shiver-inducing ‘Vortex’, a power move designed to set the scene for the title track’s fervent rave sermon delivered in a cyborg voice by Depas, followed by the erotic undertones of throbbing closer ‘Float Together’ including the blistering remix by the Italian DJ Amstra.

At its core, ‘Rave the Planet’ is Depas’ personal paean to the true spirit of the original rave culture as represented by Lukas Havlik’s (Ludenworks) Luis Royo-esque artwork of a pulsating cybernetic planet of complex, interconnected nerve fibres wrapped around the Depas globe logo. “As a raver, you feel this sense of unity with community and it’s similar to a religion we’ve had for thousands and thousands of years,” Depas compares. “We are the planet, we are the culture, so both are the reflection of ourselves in the wider world.” For Depas, the concept of solidarity runs deep within techno culture. ‘Rave the Planet’ is released in conjunction with MAIKE DEPAS 2.0, a tectonic audio-visual shift that entails a wide array of digital content as varied as DJ sets live streamed from Berlin’s Teufelsberg and other dystopian locations around Europe as well as enhanced PR-photos featuring cyberpunk-inspired outfits designed by Demobaza, a cyberpunk-inspired casual couture brand best known for their sustainable Dune X Demobaza collection. Over the course of upcoming metamorphosis from a flesh-and-blood individual into a mysterious CGI character, Depas is another step closer to revolutionising the dance music scene through the metaverse.

Young hard techno DJ-producer MAIKE DEPAS (born Michelangelo De Pasquale) has seen the future of music and it’s called metaverse: “In the future it will blow up,” he predicts. “And it’s going to revolutionise the way we experience music.” Bowled over by Skrillex and Martin Garrix at the age of 8, and DJing at small Milan clubs by the time he was 11, Depas went on to study composition and piano at the prestigious Milan Conservatory before learning ‘life-changing” lessons from the best in the business at Catalyst’s 4-week Advanced Sound Design course in Berlin’s Funkhaus last year.
