Germany’s Cécille continues to put the spotlight on the rising Dutch underground this February, welcoming
Amsterdam’s Rooléh onto the roster with his ‘Distant Phase’ EP.
Across the past few years the Nick Curly and Marc Scholl helmed Mannheim, Germany based Cécille Records has
moved from strength to strength with releases and material from the likes of Leon, Sidney Charles and Reboot, while
also building a strong connection to the powerhouse Amsterdam scene with material from the likes of Dennis Quin,
Prunk and upcomer D STONE. Here the imprint welcomes yet another rising star from the Dutch capital, namely
Rooléh who’s been making his mark via releases on Archie Hamilton’s Microhertz and Too Many Rules among others.
‘Look At That’ leads with a swaying bass groove, loosely flowing organic percussion and choppy vocals, intertwined
with an amalgamation of stab sequences, synth licks and stuttering effect breaks. ‘From A Distance’ follows and shifts
towards a more loop led feel with hypnotic, unfurling vocal chants, a loopy tribal rhythm and a throbbing low-end
drive.
‘Flower Phase’ then kicks off the B-Side with a more tripped out intensity via modulating synth flutters, airy chords, a
snaking sub bass line and skippy drums before ‘Past Cognitions’ with a more classic house feel, fusing jazzy organ
licks and playful chants with a bulbous bass groove and a crunchy 4/4 rhythm.

Nick Curly celebrates the 50th release on his imprint with label partner Marc Scholl. Together, they present
Nick Curly’s Altrip EP, featuring a guest remix by Manda Moor.
The EP commences with the title track 'Altrip,' where robust sub-bass melds seamlessly with vigorous drum
programming. Following suit, 'It's You And Me' maintains the same potent energy, featuring cascading note
arpeggios and intricate percussive elements that traverse the mix. Manda Moor's 'Burning Remix' of 'Altrip'
injects her high-octane sonic signature into the original, employing rave-inspired stabs, panning drums, and
sliced vocal samples.
As the year '23 enters its final quarter, Cécille Records is set to reinvigorate its event series in collaboration
with Peoples Agency. Two official dates stand as markers of this revival. Alongside Nick Curly, an array of artists
including Sidney Charles, Manda Moor, Fabe, Leon, De La Swing, Dennis Quin, Timmy P, Reboot and more are
poised to join the festivities. The launch will take place under Cécille tent owned by Groove Fest London, while
another event is scheduled at ADE in partnership with promoter Hush, hosted at Amsterdam's Melkweg Club.

Ireland’s Andrew Azara offers up his ‘Right On Time’ EP via Cécille this May, comprised of four original compositions.
Dublin born, now Barcelona based, Andrew Azara has been steadily unveiling his twist on soul-infused house music since
2017 with releases on a number of leading labels in the field such as elrow, ORIGINS, Politics Of Dancing, Moscow and
Moan among others. Here Azara adds another notable imprint to his affiliations, joining the roster of Cécille Records, a
home for music from the likes of label co-founder Nick Curly, Butch, Sidney Charles, Leon and many more.
‘Get It Up’ opens and sees Andrew offer up saturated organic drum grooves and weighty sub bass lines with an
amalgamation of filtered synth licks, vocal chants, dubbed out stab sequences and tension building strings. ‘Mardigra’
follows and embraces a more classic house feel with a swinging rhythm section and bumpy stab led bass groove in
combination with gritty stabs and intricately processed vocal cuts.
‘De Crezy’ kicks off the flip-side with a funk-infused walking bass line, dynamically evolving percussion and a subtly unfurling
atmospheric tension throughout. Title- cut ‘Right On Time’ then concludes the EP, fusing skippy drums and murky sub bass
swells with hazy chords, airy strings and oscillating resonant synth flutters.
