Black Pomade offers up his ‘Fog Machines’ EP via Miditrip this November, comprising three original cuts and a
remix from Paolo Mosca.
Milan-born, New York-based producer Black Pomade joins Miditrip with his new ‘Fog Machine’ EP. Having
honed his sound in Lisbon, where he co-founded the collective Sudden Logic, his musical identity draws on
Chicago House and the Riviera scene of the nineties and early noughties, bringing together analogue synths,
grooving basslines and syncopated rhythms. With releases on the likes of Wilson Records, Rollover Milano
Anything Goes and Stereo Ferment behind him, he now brings his playful, psychedelic approach to the Miditrip
catalogue.
Opening the release is ‘Beyond’, a raw, classic leaning house cut fuelled by staccato melodies, squelchy acid
tones, breathy vocals and a robust rhythm section. ‘Third Eye’ follows and strips things down to sturdy drums
and twitchty 303 licks alongside sweeping chords and dynamic percussive shots.
‘Something New’ opens the B-Side next, taking things a deeper direction with intertwined strings, bumpy bass
stabs, synth flutters and a shuffled drum groove. Slow Life and Altered Circuits artist Paolo Mosca’s twist on

‘Third Eye’ then concludes the release, extracting the core essence of the original and reshaping it into a
cinematic leaning experience via layered arpeggio lines, hypnotic atmospherics, a gritty bass line and crisp
drums.
