Memento’s label honcho Idriss D is back at the production duties with
a mesmerising super single featuring a shattering remix by the
Norwegian infamous wonder known as Dj Sotofett.
“Lunatic” symbolises Idriss D natural inclination for an incessant
sonic exploration, which on this esoteric cur, has brought him to the
darkest and the most hectic jungle territories; drawing from the early
nineties British tradition but with a long sight into the contemporary
climate, these heavy rattling beats and scattered vocals will simply
leave you speechless.
On the flip side , Dj Sotofett is just condensed cutting edge music
technology wisdom; the straight deep beat and the charming arpeggios
transform the original mayhem into a late night anthem.
The splendid picture on the release cover has been taken by Ismail
Zaidy of L4artiste, which is also responsible for the astonishing
video teaser, while the artwork has been as usual an graphic affair of Boogie.

Memento's steadfast head-honcho Idirss D is back on his own label with
"Shams", a maxi-single with two cuts of pure sonic bliss, finely
embellished with soul and dedication for his personal D.I.B series.
“Shams” is an overwhelming dancefloor tune that expands on a flangered
sequence, crackling arpeggios, an uplifting galactic pad, shredded
male hooks and finally an esoteric slice of a female lyric.
“Piramide” is a fast technotic ride over an hypnotic tribal chant. A
fat saturated bass drum and crispy claps open the way to an highly
resonant synthetic lead that spins around itself over and over again,
submerging and resurfacing with furious snares and rapid hi-hats.
The two sides of the record entirely disclose Idriss' sharpened club
sense and his superb taste for graceful arrangements

N-gel is back on Memento with his brand new 4-track “Wild” vinyl, plus an exclusive extra track for the digital release. Following up to his 2020 EP “No matter who I’m” that saw him debuting to much acclaim on Idriss D’s label, the talented producer returns to what he does best. “Control” is an energetic, stripped down groovy Chicago House-inspired number, with an infectious bassline and robotic vocal samples. “Dance” opens with a steady beat and flows with a crescendo of synth arpeggios that create a hypnotic mood. “Dreaming” speeds up the tempo with plenty of jacking snares and sounds from outer space. Title track “Wild” is upbeat and pumping, its swinging melody a catchy ear candy for the most discerning dance floor connoisseurs. “The night is my house” closes off the release as the digital bonus: loopy vocal snippets and an old school big room melody take it up a notch, ending the EP on a high note

Analha was one of the first approaches I had with the design of analog basses and drums, to understand the way in which we can involve so many sounds and transform them to our own liking, to give it its own narrative, a sense, an identity in which it can be navigated about different styles without problem.

They are two pieces that make up totally different break paths where "Mi ama Dic K no" [A1] is my own exploration and vision of the break beat, three melodies written in F # that count the subtlety, while the bass contrasts in an aggressive idea to the beat of many changing rhythms in the drums, which sorfs between a Mpc, 808, Dsm & V Modular ; Classic trip hop voices samples that guide the way this own idea progresses on the breaks and pads that generate a more complete environment with a very energetic atmosphere that is constantly on the rise in the active and natural development of the track.

Towards the B side "Run mami run" [B1] is composed by a classic intro of acid cut while some seconds of drums interpose which are accompanied by a radio narration of a chase, a return change is present with a vinyl spin between voices from GTA & WU TANG CLAN which make an intro for an infusion of breaks fully aligned to the beginnings of oldskool drum and bass which are accompanied by voices recorded, treated and edited to connect more directly between the spaces interrupted by the glitch acid chords.

Among contrary structures "Analha" contains hidden but marked criticisms, it is a project that comes from 2018 and ended at the beginning of 2019 which made him think about how to involve more than music within his own sound narrative.

The sonorous identity of rachiid today is different, he understands his environment but does not believe in adapting, he tells us that each exploration and discovery during these years have led him to think how this first release was born until now but is not connected at all with what nowadays, describes his sonority today as changeable, essential and highly with IDM, experimental and breaks.

The Analogue Cops are back on Memento, after their acclaimed remix of Francesco Farfa “Synchronicty 13”, with “Lucretio versus Marieu Vol. 1”.
This will be the first chapter of a series dedicated to a tidy compromise-less selection of their most groundbreaking club oriented tracks.
On Lucretio’s side, “Accelerating Osc” is a minimalistic relentless techno cut that explores algorithmic sequencing and the boundaries of real-time delay manipulation in Kyma; pounding away, “Neon 3” is a furious peak-time ride with jacking drums, sharp hi-hats and worrisome hypnotic synthesizers.
Marieu’s side is a slower paced groove affair focused on his distinguishing seductive use of sampling: “Alterate Indigo” festive bass line and enthusiastic cymbals blossom with an enchanting blues piano and an handful of filtered quirks, while “Room Mate” combine hot vocal hooks and a funky bass-line with a massive kick-drum.

Marieu is the otaku member of The Analogue Cops and Restoration records
"The Drum Island" E.P., his debut E.P. on Memento is an compelling mix
of three dancefloor-rollers.

In full compliance with his trademark style, characteristic of the
releases on his own label Enlightened Wax and on Hypercolour, Marieu
artfully blends militaristic rhytms and heavy basslines with
delightful funk and sideral atmospheres.

Mirko Loko’s recent Comet Plan LP on Cadenza was another cornerstone release for the former Lazy Fat People Swiss maestro: a collection of eclectic tunes and collaborations with piano virtuoso Francesco Tristano and dOP’s vocalist JAW, the album established him once again as a true experimental studio wizard, going against current trends and doing his thing.
Techno legend Carl Craig also remixed the leading single Kolor taken from the record, breaking into Beatport’s Top 10.
After spending the summer as one of the main players on the Vagabundos’ Ibiza circus, on this release for Memento, Mirko takes his vision to the next level, producing two tracks that defy any convention in today’s often monotonous and stagnating music market: “Undo”’s minimalistic intro leads on to a bunch of spooky vocals looped throughout the whole piece, squelchy synth melodies and percussive stabs all around, while “Solaris”’ atmospheric, bright and ethereal pads make for a more than 12 minutes long trip of blissed out magic.
