A – Raise & Risk – The Itch
A tiny camel keyring tossed around on a contact mic and run through an ancient plate reverb makes up most of the percussions, odd ad-libs and wooshes in "The Itch". A 60 ton bass growl of mesozoic depth and some messed up hihats nicked from a previously discarded track round things off. Unfolds particularly well at high volume with ample Waterhouse-level low end.
B1 – Raise & Risk – Anthistamine
The initial minimalist groove of "Antihistamine" had already been in place for a while. But it was the log drums we added after a long night spent in a dark room surrounded by and partaking in mayhem that really tied it all together. Overall a moody and somewhat dissonant affair, the track breathes and oozes in unexpected ways, like we've never managed before.
B2 – Raise & Risk – Screwfix E17
Sirens wail, shouts compete for attention, a gnarly bassline tests your speakers and the drums switch between half- and doubletime 165 business. "Screwfix E17" is a rowdy loveletter to everyone's fav retailer of cheap tools and ambivalent service.

Is This The End EP
Intrinsic Rhythm / IR-007
"Intrinsic Rhythm is happy to announce a new EP "Is This The End" by label owner and Irish artist Tr One.
The title takes influence on the struggle provided by modern day electronic music and the thoughts on continuing and this EP tries to provide solace in the love and richness that techno and house sounds particularly deeper strains can provide.
The record kicks off with "Conversion" which is an ode to higher tempo Detroit and European techno by working an uplifting string pattern alongside an offbeat loop and MPC workout.
Next up is "Is This Love" where a whimsical vocal sample is built around an acid and bass undercurrent combined with an emotional chord structure.
Starting off the B side is "Sunrise On Juliet" which is an electro and ghettotech influenced rhodes driven house track which takes the listener on a funk driven journey.
Next is "Steroid" where classic Detroit sounds meets UK influenced house music driven by a hypnotic string and bass pattern.
Finally "Phone Voice" finishes the EP with a murky and hypnotic 909 driven house track which aims to transport the listener to a dream like state.
Limited to 125 vinyl copies with no repress"

Nite Vision : “Distant Planes” (Chiwax005)

Distant Planes
Remote Viewer
After their much lauded double pack on BOE Recordings, gaining support right across the board from DJs such as Ben Sims, DJ Deep and Doc Martin, to name but a few, Nite Visionʼs second outing arrives via the meteorically rising Chiwax label. With a slew of releases under their belts, Craig Stainton (Mantra, Myriadd, Acid Phreex) and Nigel
Rogers (Perseus Traxx, Orpheus, Sir Leon Greg) have once again combined their knowledge and love for warm synth tones.
Distant Planes is an intoxicatingly psychedelic adventure into House music, interconnecting a range of new and old machines to generate a distinctively timeless fog of sound that transports the mind to other realms while forcing the body to move in its most primal and expressive way. The titles point to something deeper, something far beyond the
everyday, and as your heart rate naturally syncs to the tempo the journey begins as rich basses, hints of acid, lush pads and divine arpeggiations drift in and out of the swelling mass of sound. All extracted live from the machines, the whole thing simply throbs a simplicity that while seeming basic and unfettered by the details of much of the
overproduced music currently available, somehow remains rich and complex in its sound and feel. This is as deep as it is mystical, a true interdimensional journey.

Roman Lindau is a German techno DJ, artists and producer, as well as being a core member of the infamous Fachwerk Records from Berlin.
Music has always coursed through Roman's veins ever since he was a young boy so it is no suprise that he became the accomplished producer and highly respected DJ that he is today.
In the late 2000´s Lindau became active in the Berlin electronic music scene, beginning to play music in clubs as well as producing his own music. The first track he released in 2008 on his home label Fachwerk Records appeared in one the world famous Berghain Mix Compilations, mixed by Len Faki. Following from this Berghain invited Roman to contribute an exclusive Track for Ben Klock´s Berghain Mix in 2009. After this success the gates opened for him to play regularly as a DJ at Berghain.
At the same time he continued to work on music for Fachwerk Records. He produced dance floor smashers like ´Crasse´ in 2011 and ´Rave on´ in 2014, which were charted by the likes of Ben Klock, Sven Väth & Chris Liebing, afirming his deserved place amongst the techno elite.
More recently in 2015 the well known Victor Calderone from NYC invited Roman to release on his label Matter+.
The reason why Roman is such a great DJ is because of the fact he knows what the people want! ''I love to dance and that's very important: as DJ you need to feel what the crowd want so you can help them to party and have fun.'' Combining a varied selection of raw house and techno in his sets, recent bookings have taken Roman across the world; from the hallowed techno Mecca that is Berghain to dark underground clubs as part of the recent Fachwerk label tour. He has performed at every legendary Berlin venue, past and present from Tresor to Berghain, and it is this that gives Roman the edge above the rest. If you can do it there, you can do it anywhere! From 2014 Till the closing he was a resident DJ at Stattbad, one of Berlins findest adress for Electronic Music.

A – DJ Raise & Sgt. Risk – Putney Acid feat. svmthox
Named after a delicious and rather skittish old synth that provided us with the monstrous bassline on this, “Putney Acid” starts off mellow enough before the beast rears its head and tears along a swinging, syncopated rhythm and well dosed injections of bubbling acid. It’s all counterbalanced by snippets of svmthoX’ bright voice, filling the whole upper frequency space of the tune. One for the heads, no doubt.
B – Sgt. Risk – smOKe
Clocking in at 160+, “smOKe” starts off equally subdued as its flipside, powered by interlocking layers of muted drums and a hollow-ish sub. the only bright things in this tune are the odd banging snare, and crunched up snippets of breaks pushing to the fore. for those deep and dark introspective moments on the floor.

Frantic breakbeats, epic strings and a booming sub kick off this percussive belter. Tension decreases and rises through a breakdown, before things get switched up with a more percussive bassline and various little elements and fx. One to tease out that last bit of energy in the late hours..
B – Raise & Sgt. Risk – Circuit Breaker
“Scrollers” is a mad, industrial, syncopated, 140 bpm, not-quite-garage slapper. Built from messy, undulating percussion loops and filtering snares, lots of noise and warping bass interludes, it’s a hectic piece of tuneage that unexpectedly delivers a sliver of respite at the very end. A – Raise – Wookey Pinger
This one’s going for the jugular with a marching groove, eerie pads and Raise’s disgustingly catchy bass hook that hits on just the right side of donk. Stick some roughed up samples from dad’s jazz collection in the drop and you have yourself a straightforward rave tool. Has caused scenes and mild debauchery when played out.
B - Sgt. Risk – U Everything
Originally made in one sitting in 2014, we polished this one up as a similarly tool-ish flip to above mentioned slab of floor functionality. A distorted 4/4 kick, various loops of industrial origin and a deranged diva loop lead to the midsection, which introduces acidic subs and relentless stabs before it all comes crashing home for the rollout.

Raise cooked this one up after hunting down the legendary Loon (Gavia) call used in loads of classic rave tunes, courtesy of being a preset on the e-mu sampler. Sporting (hehe) an airy breakbeat, a heavenly synth loop and cavernous, distorted reese bass, this one sits snugly between big bad banger and emotional roller.
B – Raise & Sgt. Risk – Leaving_Navaro
Last tune that got finished in our old studio (which is now a huge pit in the ground). Dubbed “esoteric garage shit” one rather late night by someone who shall remain nameless, it’s built around a swinging 4/4 groove powered by warped bass. The pads carrying it all the way through might indeed be considered worthy of a spin at your monthly tree hugging ceremony, before the melancholic organ licks we laid down one serotonin-deprived night make this a bonafide tearjerker.

The Shining Wall/ Weaponized Soul
Sport / Sport5000
A - Raise & Sgt. Risk
A slowed down tribute to the dichotomy of mellow/heavy in mid 90's Jungle/Drum n' Bass, "The Shining Wall" begins with eery pads and a forlorn siren call, gently driven along by a subtle amen groove. Midway through, things turn more aggressive with distorted break switchups and a smattering of mentasm for good measure, before coming full circle and leaving you with a warm but somewhat uncertain end.
B - Sgt. Risk - Weaponized Soul
The flip is a more ominous affair, inspired by the short transition period ca. '96, just before techstep became a defined term. "Weaponized Soul" sets the mood with foreboding pads, until it drops into a relentless barrage of industrial beats and a cavernous sub. In the midway breakdown everything drops away, clearing the stage for a monstrous, swarmlike synthriff.
Both of these tracks where never meant to be "conceptual tributes", but just ended up that way.
A is fairly new, while B is the umpteenth version of a ten year old tune. Big up the Dolphin Man for convincing us to put them out together.

A - The Prophet
Drenched in a thick haze of layered synthpads, "The Prophet" builds up from muted, dissonant percussion and little drum-fills. A few vocal-snippets recorded on the street give way to a slowed down jungle-jam, that winds down before things intensify for the rollout. One for the twilight hours.
B1 - Meatpie
Clearly the thug of this bunch, "Meatpie" is a mean technostomper, driven by distorted drums and a thick underbelly of call-and-response basslines. Midway through, rather unsubtle tribal drums switch things up and introduce a dramatic pad, before the carnage resumes. Supported by Violet (Naïve), Peach, Imre Kiss, JASSS and ASOK (Lobster Theremin) amongst others.
B2 - Contadini
You fool around with some classic old samples, finish the tune for a laugh, it works great but in the meantime a dozen other tracks come out with the same break. What to do? Sleep on it for way too long and finally stick it on the runout of your B-Side, that's what you do. Go have fun with this!
All props to the Vicks-crew.

Debut release, its origins remaining in the murky shadows of anonymity for now. While drenched in sounds spanning back to early Jungle and Hardcore, these tunes are crafted with a sense for modern tastes, ready to flip the vibe in a brave DJ's 4/4-set. "Dream Support" bopps along nicely with warm chords and a skippy breakbeat, until the bottom end opens up with a big reese-workout and suddenly you're down at the blue note in 1996, filtered mentasm-samples and all. "Dawn Queen" follows a similar path, it's chugging breakbeat slowly getting friskier with some tasty amen-cuts.

Hannu Karjalainen
Railo
Signature Dark / SD3
Press release text:
Artist Hannu Karjalainen and his new LP Railo is the third album to be released on the Signature Dark label, first digitally and later on vinyl. The album features seven electroacoustic ambient soundscapes.
The tracks were composed during the winter months in Helsinki, Finland in 2019-2021. Railo (finnish for "a crack in the ice" or "crevasse") can be seen as on ode to winter, the richness of the seasons and different weather conditions which have been an inspiration to Karjalainen’s work.
The arc of the album follows seasons from autumn to spring, starting from cold autumn winds (Viima) and ending to the melting of the ice (Sula). Different winter phenomena are explored on the way, including ”Routa” (finnish for "ground frost"), ”Kuura” (rime) and ”Kelirikko” (a term known especially in the archipelago meaning a time at the end of winter when the frozen sea does not support transportation anymore but boat traffic is neither possible). Yet, the album is being suffused with a sadness stemming from the threatening permanent changes in the diversity and balance of nature trough the climate change caused by us.
”Railo” is an audiovisual project which also contains two video art works to be released online, ”Railo” and ”Sula”. The video of ”Railo” depicts a constantly mutating snowy landscape while the crackes and rumbles on soundtrack take us seemingly inside the ice.

RELEASE NOTES
Deep Club resident dj and head strobe controller Lone Dancer marks our label’s 4th entry with his
first solo 12” on vinyl. After finishing two quality tape albums in 2017 already for Jacktone and Always
Human Tapes, “House is a Tunnel” arrives packed with 4 club-ready jagged tekno bangers and one cut
for the chillout room. Side A - Communication: The title track is a sure-fire party starter centered around
a thick kickdrum and a repeating synth rhythm laced with weird percussion and synth stabs trickling
through the texture. Next, “PO12-3” combines crisp claps, hats, and a central synth theme that calls
for an intergalactic rave. “Colony Dwelling” kicks off the Transportation side, taking our extraterrestrial
dancers to a new dimension steeped in fog juice and flangers. “Floor” has a chill intro until it launches
into a gritty track that throws broken kickdrums and distorted synths in every direction. Finally, “Night
Rain” puts the party to rest utilizng soft pads while hinting at moments from the night before.
Overall, “House is a Tunnel” is a fitting dance-centric conglomeration of Lone Dancer’s unique style of
jacking techno, broken beats, and spaced out tracks that has set him apart in 2017.

Play Label Records / plr012
With additional successes under such labels as Taub, Latence releases once again on Play Label Records for his fresh Superheated EP.
Collaborating ideas from his teen years in Belgium through the 90’s, with more progressive inspirations, Latence has materialized a unique style, which is a celebration of timeless dance music and it’s continued influences on forward-thinking artists.
Kicking things off with his title-track, Pablo flaunts a subtle build of off beat chords injected around playful and erratic acid house influences. A busy and varied concoction of sounds topped with provocative whispers.
Deeper Amplitude is the second of this four track EP, and as the name suggests, we are provided with ample bass, accompanied by snippets of melodic discord and a boisterous snare, fearless and rhythmic.
Metastable lays a minimalist percussive foundation, sporting a retro 70s synth that steals focus with its quirky pitch shifts, a classic example of Latence’s immense talent for blending influences across eras.
Latence closes with Acido Basic, an eccentric finale to this eclectic EP. Using exotic vocal sampling centered around chemical compounds, he simplifies his percussive layers to a clean texture, which form the bedrock for his experimentations.

TRACKS

a2 axpin – gilgamesh (christian burkhardt remix)

Artist: Axpin Title: Gilgamesh EP
distribution: vinyl (dbh) & digital (dig dis / music mail)
Label: Miava-Records Cat.No.: MIA001 Release Date: 1.02.2017
Axpin debuts with its EP „Gilgamesh“, including three deep house tracks and a first floor remix of mastermind Christian Burkhardt (Cocoon, Oslo, CBSessions). It smoothly combines multifarious arrangements and arousing melodies with a forward pushing club sound. Suitable for the dance floor as well as the afterparty at home, this EP transports the listener to a faraway world of subtle grooves, pushing drums and mesmerizing sound design.
„Gilgamesh“ is a track based on the story about the journey of an ancient emperor, searching for enlightenment in the highlands of Mesopotamia. So it comes as no surprise that a driving beat breaks through the laid back percussions and hypnotizing atmospheres. Wandering through this track side by side with mysterious pads and exotic sounds, a lost but defying melody accompanies the listener on his steps.
„Catiba“ is a track with a multilayered arrangement, that doesn’t necessarily reveal its complexity on the first look. Different rhythmic moods provide the structure for two melodic lines, competing at first but working perfectly together after a thrilling break, melting your soul. They’re supported by a pervading deep bass groove that will make your body vibrate. Christian Burkhardt summarizes both tracks’ features and unifies them in an impulsive club remix that floats every second and climaxes in a thrilling break. Dry but playful, perfectly fitting for the dance floor without losing the warmth and lightness of the original.
„Kryon“ is the EP’s third and most expressive track. Starting with lost parts of a melody, rather an echo in the vast distance, the track continuously increases its tension, extending the rhythms until the arrangement blasts out a stunning break that, contrary to all expectations, is a calm and compassionate moment with a transient theme. The clear production provides a place in the mix to each sound, a deep moog bass rumbles in the basement while the stimulating percussion coats the volatile beat.
Axpin
Being friends in real life and both addicted to electronic music, a collaboration in producing was the next logical step to take. Ahmed Tohmé, DJ and producer originating from Mannheim and Tomio Tremmel, producer and label owner of 4MPO,put their heads and skills together and not only created Axpin but also founded their own label – Miava Records – in 2016. Since both share the opinion that Tek-House music has nowadays become a peculiarly repetitive, not to say disposable good, they decided to put effort into finding back to a sound based, atmospheric and melodious music style. Ahmed’s relentless hunt for deep and pushing techno beats and Tomio’s expertise in production techniques and skills in scoring seem to be the perfect match for a fruitful cooperation.
With their debut release on Miava Records, Axpin shows to the world that they don’t have the need of hiding behind other big names in the scene. „Gilgamesh“ hits the dance floor worldwide and pushes the two young producers to transcend themselves. Stay tuned for forthcoming releases!

Ahmed Tohmé
War may not be a typical introduction to a musicians biography, but in this case it’s a meaningful circumstance that led four brothers, deprived of their childhood, to leave friends, family and their beloved homeland Lebanon to come to Germany. Ahmed, the youngest offspring of an ingenuous arabic family, found his way to electronic music growing up in a prospering and peaceful surrounding. The latter soon became an important part of his life. Every week he hurried to the local records store to listen to the newest releases and witness the evolution of techno music. So it was the next logical step when he and his brother Abed decided to start as a DJ-Team in 2008 – also since then known as Gebrüder Tohmé – rocking nearly every club in the Rhein-Main-Area.
But DJing not being enough for him, Ahmed started producing. His influences happened to be major artists of the time, as Maetrik or Adam Beyer, just to mention a few. It didn’t take long for other producers to take note of his creativity, shown through his debut releases on Autark Records and stunning remixes for other artists. Being courted by Tech-House and Minimal he still aimed for a higher target: merging techno beats with powerful melodic soundscapes, for which he soon got the opportunity to collaborate with a certain kind of musician. So he took the chance and locked himself up in the 4MPO-Studios with his friend and coproducer Tomio Tremmel, not only enhancing technical skills but also and principally the use of sounds and melodies as an expression of his thoughts and feelings.
After months of composing, beat-programming and mixing he is now proud to present his first episode of his musical journey over his newly founded label Miava Records, appealing to the audience with atmospheric soundscapes, tripping effects and hypnotising beats.
Tomio Tremmel / The Sushi Club
In 1998, Tomio Tremmel released his first album “Sushidelic” under the name of The Sushi Club over the record label Electrolux, located in Frankfurt. His second record “Neo Sashimi” came out in 2001, bearing significantly stronger electronic influences. The more melodic work “Sakura”, partly produced in collaboration with Japanese producer Toby Izui and singer Kaori Kaneko, completed the Sushi Club trilogy in 2003.
Besides musically and visually contributing to German TV shows such as Spacenight and Flowmotion, consisting solely of ambient and lounge music, he also produced the TV show Man vs. Machine in collaboration with artist Naoki Kenji. The aforementioned show was the first on German TV to deal with more club-oriented, up-tempo music and video art. Inspired by a trip to Japan, Tomio Tremmel used video material from his journey to create a DVD with an impressive Dolby Surround mix. For several years, the music video featured in the TV show Flowmotion.
At the beginning of 2010, Tomio Tremmel decided to shift his focus back to his personal most important project The Sushi Club. Deep House influences mix with electro- and trance beats, spacenight sounds with acoustic instruments, and sample-bites from Japanese movies with digital effects – all morphing into a fascinating tapestry of sound. The end result is a diversified experience of creativity that rejects any type of conventional label. With “Lunarium”, Tomio Tremmel has again demonstrated his gift for compositional complexity while staying true to his particular aspiration for the sheer quality of the music.
In the current year 2016,Tomio Tremmel is proud to present his new label Miava Records in cooperation with his friend and co-producer Ahmed Tohmé. Unconventional but atmospheric techno music is what Miava claims to represent, combining deep rough beats with adrift melodies based on an cosmic sound design. Besides building up a new roster of talented and profound musicians Tomio aims to reach a new level of production and grant long-term quality releases. Moreover, being a part of the music collaboration Axpin, his dream of ascending to being part of the top producers of the scene seems to come true.

Planetary Systems I
SIL002
Kepler. makes the second contribution to Silencio's catalog with “Planetary Systems I”.
With refined ethereal elements rendered from what is surely an eerie origin, “186f”, is truly engaging. This track is fueled with a seductive synth heralded by haunting vocals that effectively whisper over its steady, punchy bass line. Meandering in the background is the type of idiophone sound one would associate with a hand-percussion triangle instrument. Its particular effect provides a complex, rolling rhythm that vibrates in a beautiful tone until its objective has been achieved.
On the B-side “452b” is a great track to open up a set with, gentle yet still energetic in how it introduces itself to the audience. It begins with a series of echoing sounds that rise and dive throughout, seemingly reflected off the surface of one’s subconscious, in a satisfying manner. Accompanied by a deep pulsating bass line that accents its driving drums, this track will set the tone time and time again.
Imagine the dawning of a realization formed from an inspiring event in nature. The second track, “Luzon”, features a laid back tropical tempo and samples that feel transported from a lush, rhythmic rainforest. Kepler expresses this vision within the confines of a catchy groove, utilizing subtle bird sounds and rattles that resonate over layers of atmospheric synth. This is emotional music meant to move a crowd or manufacture a sincere moment of clarity.

CYRK / CYRK002
Big support by:
Brett Johnson, Marco carola, Dubspeeka, Rob Rich (Stereo MC's), Paul Ritch, Shadow Child, Claptone, T. Williams, Denny, Pirupa, Yousef, Huxley, Dave Angel...
Not even a month has passed since Sierra Sam and Pascal Hetzel ´s CYRK project launched with the high impact homage ‘Tribute’ and they return with yet another respectfully rooted release.
Channelling the energies of Detroitian agenda-setters such as Inner City, Joey Beltram and Scott Grooves, CYRK celebrate the original template and ingredients that have gone on to inform every genre that’s since passed. Easy to say… A dark art to master without repeating something that’s already been done before. Safe to say that CYRK definitely have that art mastered…
Its deft ping-pong riff echoing through classic detuned synth tones and unrelenting beats refusing to stop even for the honeyed evocative tones of singer Christine Eusebio , ‘Fantasy’ is one of those tracks you’ll feel you know but also understand its freshness instantly. The type of track that gets crowds grinning like Cheshire cats the second it pops on… Even though they’ve never heard it before. Rooted in history, coded in innovation, it’s more proof that CYRK’s three-headed formula is better than one.
Remix-wise both Pascal Hetzel and Gerome Sportelli remain in Detroit: Pascal looks towards the likes of Mills and UR’s ‘World Power Alliance’ phase for inspiration with his heads-down, militant techno aesthetics while Gerome conjures up sensations of Cybotron and The Preps with his slinky, ice-edged electro adaptation. Both versions take Christine’s surging, sensual vocals to new creative pastures… And they’ve invited you to do the same with the acapella version, too.
Celebrating a legacy while keeping it fresh; CYRK remind us where we’ve come from… And where we’re heading.

Produced by Neville Watson and Nigel Rogers (aka Perseus Traxx) in an impromptu recording session lasting just one afternoon, the love of classic sounding Chicago tones and feelings are immediately present. The sound is that of effect drenched raw machinary, hammering out beats and
