A – Raise & Risk – The Itch

A tiny camel keyring tossed around on a contact mic and run through an ancient plate reverb makes up most of the percussions, odd ad-libs and wooshes in "The Itch". A 60 ton bass growl of mesozoic depth and some messed up hihats nicked from a previously discarded track round things off. Unfolds particularly well at high volume with ample Waterhouse-level low end.

B1 – Raise & Risk – Anthistamine
The initial minimalist groove of "Antihistamine" had already been in place for a while. But it was the log drums we added after a long night spent in a dark room surrounded by and partaking in mayhem that really tied it all together. Overall a moody and somewhat dissonant affair, the track breathes and oozes in unexpected ways, like we've never managed before.

B2 – Raise & Risk – Screwfix E17

Sirens wail, shouts compete for attention, a gnarly bassline tests your speakers and the drums switch between half- and doubletime 165 business. "Screwfix E17" is a rowdy loveletter to everyone's fav retailer of cheap tools and ambivalent service.

Christian Rinderman aka C-Rock has been a main fixture of the House Music scene in
Frankfurt / Germany since the 1990s. No matter what the current trends were, he always
kept it deep and funky. His first release in 1995 contained a crazy club banger that became a favourite of many
local and international Djs - „Funky Dope Trakk.“ Ricardo Villalobos is just one example
who couldn't stop playing it over decades.
In 2012/13 the original tune got remixed and reissued on C-Rock's own imprint, „Lo-Fi
Stereo.“ Both versions of the tune are long out of print and have become very RARE.
So „All That Jelly“ will now reissue those four versions, carefully remastered and re-cut from
the original DATs for maximum club performance and enjoyment during the next 30 years!

Second release on MUd Trax is a great compilation of tracks by Kiryll Matveev, Ataneus, Genning and Etzu Mahkayah

The second offering from Mud Trax, a division of MixCult Records is a compilation to remember.

With Dub Tech laid out in all its many forms and moods by a dynamic assortment of rhythms, it is nothing less than exquisitely fresh pop manipulative.The album features contributions from Kirill Matveev, Ataneus, Genning and Etzu Mahkayah. With an electrifying mix of dub's sprawling scope and acid's driving rhythm, even a record that pushes sound the way this one does can come off totally funky.

Kirill Matveev & Wiklauri's Ioli (Kirill's Version) makes for a promising opening, melding into deep dub its ethos of acid, a psychedelic blend that touches the nerves of those who love to dance. Ataneus takes it further on A2 with Napolitaner, a track that is like nothing else: dense, dub-coloured layers of sound, which create a steadily seductive momentum able to steal listeners away into temporal plunge.

On the other side, B1's Red Lights by Genning is at once a punchy piece and a dancefloor phalanx of sound. A work meticulously sculpted by the speakers, yet redolent with natural energy-Geistgemäss.
The journey is brought to a close by Etzu Mahkayah's Cs-137 on B2, hypnotic grooves offering equal parts reflectivity and pumping energy.

Taken together these tracks provide an experience that is euphoric yet absorbing, each not only embodying Dub Tech but also pushing it in new directions.

Introspection Recordings is proud to present his new limited 300 copies series.
A four-track EP that practically oozes class, the debut offering from Italian label Introspection is nothing if not an auspicious one. Featuring four tracks from an evidently shrewdly chosen bunch of artists, Introspection001 takes on numerous different styles and sounds, with the end result one that’s thoroughly uncompromising and always engaging throughout. Featuring the work of four Italian producers; E-dward!, Matthew Redden, Lorenzo Magnozzi and BCFHBH, it’s a release that dazzles from start to finish.

We get going courtesy of Edoardo Scarpellini aka E-dward!’s ‘Got It’. A firm fixture in discerning Italian circles, as a DJ he has played in practically all of his country’s foremost nightspots, not least Cocoricò in Riccione, Spazio 900 in Roma as well as Tenax and Fortezza da Basso in Florence. Equally renowned as a producer, his sounds have brought him to a wide range of respected outlets, including Bosconi, and Apparel Music. A minimal track that’s but a sum of a few parts, Scarpellini’s contribution here is a dubby, weighty, emotional cut that’s high on intensity throughout.

Next up is Matteo Salvadorini aka Matthew Redden. A native of Livorno, Redden’s contribution here, the whimsical, curious strands of ‘Melancholic Probe In A Sad Space’ serves up a very different sound to what’s come before. A nimble, microhouse-inspired cut that’s both happy and sad while serving up a host of introspective vibes, Redden’s contribution here is truly a joy to behold.

The B side kicks off courtesy of label owner Lorenzo Magnozzi and his track, the wonderful ‘Acid Morning (Space Time)’. Another track on display here that’s been suitably named, it’s teeming with peak-time prowess, with its sporadic vocal stabs only adding to the sense of drama. A considerable move into a different sound sphere, it signals the EP’s intentions with some prowess. Supported by a host of respected names such as Ricardo Villalobos, Dana Ruh, Raresh, Tobi Neumann and Nastia, his is a sound that defines categorisation but one that always follows a discerning script.

Born in Huntingdon in the UK but raised in Pisa, BCFHBH started his musical journey at the age of 11, meddling with his parent’s vinyl collection, a move that would ultimately inspire a life-long love affair with all things electronic music. His deep house flavoured track, ‘Kin’ is a wonderfully deep number that harks back to the days when deep truly did mean deep. A classy, sophisticated and wonderfully restrained track, it signs off the release in some style.

“Setting away from usual Snuff Trax releases, first track 'Night 3' slows down the tempo and uses soft layers on top of it, to craft and create a delicate atmosphere that works SO WELL. Second track is a classic acid house recreation, echoing of Mike Dunn's Magic Feet' and Steve 'Silk' Hurley 'Jack Your Body' - and THAT is a compliment to me. Third tracks muscles it up, whilst adding a techier and lovely edgier techno side to it, whith a heavy, pounding beat, and a hammering rhythm. Echoes of Plastikman's early demented releases such as 'Spastik', Spaz', 'Elektrostatik' and peers, as well
as classic 90sacid tracks (of which sadly the names escape me ; will fix if they come back to me) complete the process and change the third track track into an acid stormer.
Finally, fave track, Moralez', breaking boundaries between genres, and blending gracefully house, deep house, acid with a twist of tech-house with a distinctive TR- drumkit, surfing on a soft and mild midtempo rhythm track. Highly recommended. It's hard to pick just one as a favorite, but if I were really to do, I'd choose 'Sun & Rain'.”
